Ice Tournament Rules

  1. The Municipality of Tweed will not be held liable for injury to any person and will not be responsible for any loss of property. Registrants compete in this event at their own risk.
  2. Registrants must have a valid fishing license.
  3. MNR Rules & Regulations Must Be Followed.
  4. All registrants must register the morning of the event; all registrants are required to have a full inspection the morning of the tournament. Inspections will begin at 6:30 a.m. If you refuse to allow inspection, you will not be allowed to enter the tournament and forfeit entry fee.  Have everything opened and ready for the inspection. Random inspections may also occur throughout the hours of the tournament.
  5. All registrants are required to check back in whether they are weighing in fish or not. (This is for safety reasons).
  6. Upon the start of the tournament and after being inspected anglers are not permitted to return to their vehicles before weigh in. If a registrant must return to their vehicle for any reason they will be inspected upon re-entry.
  7. Registrants will be permitted in the tournament boundary prior to 8:00 a.m. after registration and inspection. There will be NO DRILLING OF HOLES OR FISHING PRIOR TO 8:00 a.m.  If you are found drilling holes or fishing prior to 8:00 a.m., the tournament organizers will disqualify you and forfeit your entry fee.
  8. Tournament hours are from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Weigh Station opens at 1:00 p.m. All registrants must be at the weigh-in station no later than 2:00 p.m. or their fish will not weighed.
  9. Check-In and Weigh-In will be at Trudeau Park Resort.
  10. A total of 10 fish can be weighed per team. The total weight of all 10 fish will determine the winner. Fish that are being weighed should be kept in a five gallon bucket with water to cover the fish.
  11. In case there is a tie, the prize is split equally between teams.
  12. Live and artificial bait may be used.
  13. There is no limit to the number of holes participants can drill. Participants can fish in any hole, but with a maximum of two lines per person at any one time.
  14. Participants may fish with or without a portable fish hut. Teams may share a hut.
  15. No trucks/cars are permitted on ice. If you choose to bring an ATV/Snowmobile it is at your own risk.
  16. Tournament officials have the authority to request anglers move to another area if they feel safety is a concern.
  17. All motorized equipment and related equipment must be in safe and proper running order. Electric sonar and cameras can be used.
  18. Each team must catch and weigh-in their own fish.
  19. Teams cannot infringe on other teams fishing zones. Keep 10 paces (30’) from other teams.
  20. Tournament officials have the discrepancy to decline any angler from entering the tournament.
  21. Absolutely no alcohol or drugs will be consumed or in possession of any registrants during the tournament.
  22. If safety is a concern for the date of the tournament, the tournament officials will re-schedule. Entry fees will not be refunded unless the tournament is cancelled.
  23. Tournament officials have the right to amend rules and regulations as they see fit without notice.
  24. Awards will take place at Trudeau Park Resort – 15 Trudeau Lane.
